Eric Danian (Staggerlee) – Bags Society Celebration Recognition Award

Eric Danian, a household name when we speak about entertainment. He unanimously dominated the Nigerian entertainment scene during the late 70s, right up to the 90s. Boasting a wonderful skill-set, Staggerlee as he’s known by many, is a renowned DJ, writer, broadcaster and club-owner. The famous entertainer retired from the industry and relocated to the United States, where he yearned for a life of tranquillity after providing excitement and joy to everyone for so many years – to which we can rightfully justify.

To name a few highlights from Staggerlee’s fabulous career, in the 70s he presented a number of programmes on Radio Nigeria and Radio Nigeria 2, broadcasting content over more than 36 states. In the 80s he presented the hit tv show “Sunday Rendezvous” where contestants would show off their best dance moves until the winners were picked. Shortly after, he opened a night-club named “Silver Shadow” in Ikeja, Lagos.

Staggerlee made numerous guest appearances on Foreign Radio Stations including; BBC Radio London, BBC Network Africa, Radio France International and in his early years in the United States of America, he once hosted African Rhythms on community Radio in Minneapolis, A show he pioneered, which is still runs to this very day.
